Kimono’s are my all time favourite ‘cover-up’. I say cover up in this instance because even though I hardly live in what can be described as an ‘exotic climate’, it’s so easy to throw on a kimono and ‘cover up’ a normcor outfit of jeans and a white tee.

The kimonos boisterous and artistic nature makes it such a coversation starter. “You look lilke you’re wearing a piece of art!” said a lovely lady to me as I was buckling down the streets of london (honestly why do the paventments here nearly ALWAYS have to be uneven thus ruining my swag?).

The kind lady’s compliment reinstates the brands mission and reaffirms its aestetic that little bit more. You see, the aim of Vannessa Gounden garments is to be ‘wearable art’ and this is something that is reinforced all the way down to the handpainted buttons.

It is said that the idea is that every garment pushes the boundaries of fashion and art and becomes a talking point – which is exactly what happened to me!

So, whenever I have lazy days, I know I can make the minimal amout of effort but look a million dollars by throwing on one of these Kimonos!
