Hello everyone. I hope you’re well. I usually only talk through trends with my personal shopping clients but I recently got some feedback that these posts are quite informative and apparently very helpful. Since I’ve had such good feedback, I thought I’d do some more.

Also, I want to say a BIG thank you to all of my blog readers. This journey hasn’t been easy but you guys definitely make it worth it. To all of you that approach me in public, via email and even those who leave me comments on melissaswardrobe.com, Instagram and even twitter, God bless you all. You guys are the reason that I continue.

Ok, back to business! So, I’m pretty sure most of you are aware that formal dressing has become quite a big trend. It’s no mistake that high street stores and designers have been delving into powerful blazers, jackets and crisp white shirts.

A trend that is due to shake the scene this autumn is the ‘pinstripe trend’. This trend was first orchestrated during the Stella McCartney AW13 catwalk show but its always very common that the high street take inspiration from the bigger designers. In my opinion, pinstripes are more affective when they’re layered on a navy background material but they do come in all colours include black and versatile greys.

Zara have nonchalantly imitated an array of pinstripe garments that have been ‘inspired’ by the catwalk produced trend but surprisingly, Mango have been on top of the pinstripe game in my opinion. Mango really is a good brand but it seems that they are an underdog. I think with a better marketing and promotion, Mango can rise above their high street competitors because they have great produce but low recognition. I hardly ever hear anyone list mango as part of their high street favourites.
