I’m always the first to complain that there is nothing fun to do in London. I’m somebody who likes to stay at home and laugh at the TV whilst I stuff my face with all the sugary things that money can buy but friday was different. Some of my girlfriends decided that 22 was to young to have a mid life crisis so we should go out and explore the city. I say explore in the most minute way because we really didn’t go that far.

We started off at HIX in selfridges. I came to knowledge of this restaurant after late-lunching there some weeks back with Soraya from style is my thing. The reason why I returned was because they undoubtedly have the best chilli cream linguini in the world. I tried convincing my friends to enjoy a glorious bowl of HIX’s award winning pasta dish but as usual, my words fell on deaf ears. I remember one of my friends saying ‘No Melissa. I don’t leave my house to eat pasta.’ So much for trying.

We started off with sourdough bread, Caribbean chips and guacamole and deep friend squid for starters. I’m pretty sure the starters vanished in 0.5 seconds. There was no time for conversing around these succulent dishes. For mains I orders the linguini and the girls had salad. To me, salad was a silly choice. I mean who orders salad unless they’re forced to?

Well, suprised I was as HIX’s salad is just a enticing as their pasta. So I had the lobster tail (I think) chilli cream pasta and it was halloumi & lamb kofti salad and some sort of chicken concoction salad for the girls. We ended up at Aprés for drinks (it was way too loud so we left) and then all bar one for even more drinks and deserts. The churros were finger licking and the bubbles were not. We opted for home after. Even though the night ended just before 12, I has a really good time as it involved food and drinks which are two of my best friends (Ha!)

What do you guys do in London for fun?
