Another quick restaurant review! I know a lot of people have been visiting some of the restaurants that I review which is a great thing to hear!  Please email me on info@melissaswardrobe.com if you’ve visited any restaurant that I’ve mention on instagram or on melissaswardrobe.com so I know ofyour feedback!

I went to Madison’s on a very rainy sunday afternoon. Even though it’s a rooftoop bar/restaurant and it logically makes no sense to visit such in the rain, I had a very good experience. You access the restaurant via the lift in one exchange place only to come up and be greeted to the most picturesque venue. You walk out of the lift onto a extremely decandent white moet bar that has assimaliting white benches plotted around the grounds.

My friend and I were sat down immediately (we made a reservation prior, I would reccomend this) and we were given the cocktail and food menu instantly. The menu that we were given was orientated around salads, fish burgers and ‘hot dogs’ which was good for me because they tick all my culinary boxes. They also had lisiting for a sunday roast and an all day breakfast so I’m assuming this menu is on relevant for dining on a Sunday.

We opted for the shrimp spring rolls, buttermilk chicken and rack of ribs for our starter.

The shrimp spring rolls were served straight from the fryer and were sublty fried to perfection. The butermilk chicken was good – not great for me but my friend said it was her favourite. The ribs were so tender and fell off the bone and were made in a sticky savoury sauce which was different for me as I prefer a sweeter sauce but they were enjoyable none the less.

I would definetly order the rolls and ribs again but not the chicken.

For the main my friend ordered a cumberland sausage hot dog and I had the Lobster avacado roll. They were both served in a bread that resembled a Brioche roll but didn’t have the distinctive sweet taste that you would expect. I decided not to eat all of the bread because I wanted room for desert. Both meals came with truffles fries (we opted for them instead of regular fries) that were absolutely mouht watering.

I really appreciate when meals come with a side and you don’t have to pay seperately for them!

My friend, who was trying truffle fries for the first time, was very confused at the concept as she thought they actually had truffles on them but myself and a little help from my good friend google clarified her confused.

Truffle fries are either fried or drizzled with a truffle oil and the topped with a fragrant parmesan cheese. They’re very crisp and flavoursome. Whenever there is a option to have truffle fries I think I will always order them because they’re so much more exciting that regular fries.

I opted for the passion fruit parfait and red velvet cake for dessert. The red velvet cake was probably the worst I’ve had but the passion fruit parfait was absolutely divine. The passion fruit parfait ressembled a frozen cream (similar to ice cream) with passion fruit flavoring. It was coated in some sort of crumble but all the while amazing.

We had 4 alcholic drinks in total – One pornstar martini (passion fruit cocktail with a shot of prosseco) One glass of house prosseco and two ‘Rooftop’ cocktails (which were so good).

All in all I would say Madisons is a great place for lunch and drink with friends. It can definitely be considered tourist attraction because you faced with a close up view of St Paul cathedral (where the Royals were married) and it also boats one of the most beautiful skylines you’ll experience in London.

I know the bar is absolutely buzzing on a friday night so I can imagine it would be a great place to link up with friends on the early weekend.

We spent about £56 each and had 2 alcholic drinks each which was well worth it because the service was out of this world. The lady that was serving us was friendly and enjoyable and paid so much attention to detail.
