As I’ve mentioned before somewhere on the internet, I take face washing extremely serious. It started from a young age when my mum used to buy me all these products to wash my face with. Most recently, I have been on the hunt for new products because I recently took Hairfinity tablets and they RUINED my skin and didn’t do anything noticeable with my hair. I got huge under the skin pimples that turned my skin black when they dried up and I ended up with lots of hyper pigmentation around and on my cheeks.

It was one of the reasons (as well as being really sick) that held me back from doing blog posts because I just did not feel pretty or attractive at all. For this whole month I’ve been working really hard on getting my skin back to where it needs to be and reducing the pigmentation.

I always wash my face with a gel wash every morning. I use a pair of exfoliating gloves to scrub the gel into my skin. Most people think exfoliating your skin everyday  is too harsh but fortunately this is not something I can attest to. Exfoliating my skin everyday works best for me because it gets rid of all the impurities that comes with working in the city everyday (the air in London is jack nasty).

I recently purchased this face wash gel from &OtherStories. When I first picked it up, I contemplated a long time because £5.00 for a face wash is a bit steep but since it was payday, I decided to buy it anyway. Boy, am I glad that I bought it! First of all, it smells like every single tropical fruit or sweet I have ever wanted to eat in my whole life. I literally salivated whilst washing my face which is kinda gross. Secondly, when I wet my gloves and rubbed a small portion of the gel in between my hands I was so glad to see how much it lathered. Such a small drop tripled in size which made me ecstatic because that means it will last a long time since it don’t need a lot. It always makes my face feel super fresh when I use it so I would highly recommend.

After I wash my face, I always wipe around my eyes with a baby wipe and then I tone. I recently bought this toner from Garnier because everyone was banging on about it and it’s literally being advertised everywhere but your mama’s front door. I’m all for gimmicks which is probably why I bought this as well as the bottle being so big – I though I was getting more for my buck. I usually always buy whichever toner is on offer but this one was £4.99!! No offer at all. Again, it was another lucky buy because this ish is uh-mazing. I look for a toner that is gentle but still wipes off all the impurities that you may miss whilst washing and it does just that.

After this step I occasionally apply a serum. I’ve been using this YSL serum because I got in the fancy Christmas crackers that I bought from Fenwicks. When you put this serum on, it’s super moisturizing and leaves you with this temporary glow so much so you feel like shiny new apple or something. Well, you definitely look like one until it dries. Now when it dries it really dries. Literally no moisture at all. I don’t use this serum all the time because personally, I don’t know if its working and I don’t have the patience to wait it out as I’ve been using it since Christmas. Anything that takes longer than 2 months to notice any difference is way too long. My skin seems the same.

One step that I never miss out on is moisturizing. I honestly believe that moisturizing is the key to renewing your skin. I think its the key component to the repairing of skin which is necessary when you’re trying to get rid of dark spots. I needed a moisturiser that would be very dewy and nourishing to the skin and I ended up purchasing this one here. This cream literally makes my skin feel like it’s had a glass of ice cold water. It’s cooling and calming and the best thing to put on your face after a long day.

I have used many toners an moisturisers before but this combination of products started to reduce my dark spots in the first three days. So I swear by it.

Remember I’m talking about my personal experience with these products and how it worked foe me. I have used the toner, serum and moisturisers for 1-2 months now.
