Tom ford is really such an innovative brand. It’s so refreshing to see a brand think outside of the box and creates its own trends. When looking through the images on the TOM FORD collection, I didn’t think it looked like much of a spring/summer collection but I think thats what made it stand out even more.

I was extremely surprised to see tan leather cocoon jackets and boxy blazers in a spring summer collection. Then I saw the mirror like mosaic garments and my jaw dropped. The craftsmanship in the SS14 TOM FORD collection really created a wow factor and made it a brand to talk about (not just because Jay Z has been shouting about it in MCHG). Seeing the hundreds of chipped pieces on the high neck dresses left me in awe and gave the dresses more of a 3D character as the light bounced off of every crevice .

The TOM FORD collection was not was I expected at all but it left me so inspired. A friend told me that TOM FORD has started to make more of a conscious effort to create unique pieces so that brands like Zara will find it that little bit harder to steal their designs. In a way, I don’t blame them.
